My journey began when I went to my first yoga class in 2005 upon a friend’s suggestion. I was trying any ‘workout’ in those days, desperate to get in better shape. The class was crowded, challenging, and uncomfortable but I was amazed at how good my body felt when it was over. Intrigued I went back and sweated through another class, and again was pleasantly surprised with the results. I started a regular practice from then on. I had no idea at the time that I was getting so much more than just a workout. I began noticing a mind-body connection that was growing stronger. I felt more at peace with myself. My body started teaching my mind to slow down, be present, and breathe.
I became a dedicated student of yoga and wellness. I went to every studio, practiced every style of yoga, attended multiple workshops, traveled on retreats, met lots of great yogis and studied under many wise and venerable teachers.
Once I became a busy mom I found myself tired of rushing around dealing with studio schedules that didn’t fit into my life. Things like drive time, traffic, parking, crowds, and childcare were adding even more stress into the day. And I just couldn’t get into the internet and on-demand TV yoga programs at home. They weren’t motivating and felt too impersonal.
I thought a lot about how I could share what I've learned and help others on their path so I completed a rigorous, comprehensive training from a spirit-centered holistic institute accredited by the Yoga Alliance that earned me a Teaching Certification.
I currently teach group classes regularly. I work with every kind of person from professional athletes to stressed out moms, those with limited mobility, injuries, and beginners to advanced students. My primary goal is to have every 'body' leave my class feeling centered, renewed, and able to to go out into the world feeling their best.
Removing the obstacles that people just like me face everyday in our busy lives and witnessing them transform into not only healthier but happier humans has been the most rewarding part. Human beings require personal attention and proper alignment coaching on an individual level to get the most out of their practice.
